First, new Apple laptops look great. The video cards look good too. The new method of making them looks great. The new mouse pad, eh, can't have everything but as I love a "real" mouse I can't complain that they have tried to make it like a "click anywhere" type deal even if click at the top isn't easy (at least I hear it isn't). I'll just keep a real mouse around, no biggie.
Then again, I do love Gateway's Laptop Tablet PC. That thing (newest model) is incredible.
Election is a crock. Neither one should be President. Neither one is looking or even speaking about the real issues. Yeah yeah, economy, big coverup of the real problems our nation faces.
Let's put in order the real problems we have.
One, the loss of Habeas Corpus rights in America. With the advent of the current political structure we have seen the destruction of this basic rule of law. Through the use of "Enemy Combatant" labeling the rights of individuals are being violated by the State and our rights have been once again reduced. The Supreme Court recently sided correctly on this issue but it will remain to be seen if the next administration acts upon this and stops violating the rule of law.
Second, the loss of search and seizure oversite. Through the Patriot Act we have seen the loss of a check and balance inwhich Judicial oversight is given through warrants. With "no knock" entries and warrantless "peak and see" investigations you do not know who you will meet in your home. If I find a person in my home without my permission I use to be able to shoot him. Now I have to ask if he is a police or federal agent first. That is of course a joke, but think about the irony of someone who would fire upon an "intruder" and then be arranged, prosecuted, and jailed for killing an officer because that officer did a no knock entry without a warrant.
Third, domestic surveliance. This one strikes me as being ignored by the main stream media and I am uncertain as to why. The government through Executive Order has been spying directly on citizens with blanket surveliance which may or may not be focusing on the correct individuals. This is being done without oversight. And this is of course against the rule of law but since we no longer live under the rule of law this is a continuing violation of our rights against search and seizure by the Executive Branch.
Fourth, treason today pardon tomorrow. The leak of an undercover agent's identity in order to punish her husband for speaking out against the administration's policies which was taken all the way to the top of the administration. An obstruction of justice charge, prosecution, conviction, and sentencing. A commuted sentence, type of limited pardon. Which most believe will become a full pardon on W.'s last day in office. So you can do whatever you want, rule of law be damned, and get off so long as you are doing it for the President's side. Irony. We know this is the case, it has always been the case, but never before in our history (short of bringing up Nixon's pardon) has it been so very blatant. The abuse of the rule of law and the ease with which the current media has allow this to slip by is an unjustifiable oversight in the basic rules by which we as Americans are suppose to live by. We have now become of country not only of the "haves and have nots" but are now living in a country with two sets of legal status. One inwhich you will be held to the rule of law and perhaps loose everything you own and/or be imprisoned for life due to the violation of your rights (illegal search, seizure, survelliance) and one inwhich you are actually directly breaking the law and even perhaps commiting a form of absolute treason and you get off with the President's signature. An administration's eletist atitude which believes itself above the law and above the rule of law. That is the present state of the nation.
And those are the present real problems we face. Yeah yeah, economy but that will someday fix itself through basic capitialism. When do the rights we have lost and the protections we have forfeited become fixed? When is there a bailout for the abuse of the rule of law? Those never come until the public becomes so upset that a type of social revolution breaks out. It has happened to our nation before but I fear that we have come so far so fast that a social revolution is nearly the only thing that will stop our de-evolution into a state of military law. Martial law. They can take you, put you in a prison for as long as they want and deny you the right to the courts and a lawyer indefinitely, even a native born U. S. Citizen, and we worry about the economy...
"They came for them and I didn't care...until they came for me."
Wake up.
Wake up.
Wake up.
A letter to Senator Obama:
Dear Senator Obama,
Will you promise to through due diligence ensure, enforce, and uphold the Constitution of the United States and protect America from enemies domestic and foreign through the protection of our basic rights ensured to all of us through the Bill of Rights by reinstating the protection of habeas corpus to all peoples, forever end any and all discussion of labeling an American citizen or other nationality an "enemy combatant" as a way to violate that person's rights and void his Constitutional protections given to him by our founding fathers in order to reinstate those same protections for us all under national law and Presidential decree, destroying/closing and utterly and forever stating with emphatic impact that the Guantanamo Bay Prison and all like it will never again stand by Executive Order, withdraw and nullify the Patriot Act and all other warrantless searches that violate the checks and balances guaranteed to us by the Constitution, and end and forever label as illegal domestic eves dropping on American citizens in any form without the protection of judicial oversight?
Will you do this so that I can once again call myself a proud American who believes that this nation, under our Creator, has a government by, for, and of the people, as our forefathers dreamed and penned and by doing so giving us back the freedoms and liberties and protections under the law that we have lost over these past few years due to fear mongering war hawks who have run rampant with their misuse of the law to bring about an almost military state within America?
Senator Obama, will you please give me back an America I can call the land of the free and home of the brave in which a symbol of liberty is not given protection of being burned because it is such a symbol of liberty we will not even stop a person from desecrating something so beautiful because it is that freedom for which men died to see it fly and by that freedom that we allow someone who doesn't understand to burn it in their ignorance?
Will you bring FEMA and the FCC in line with the true spirit of the Constitution such that we can depend on our government for backup in times of great need and end the type of "back washing" that led to men being put in positions of authority who could not handle the job? Put those that earned that appointment and could handle the responsibility in such positions and not because they were your friend? And can we depend on our government not to take everything we own if we have a slip of our morality on a public airwaves damn it? Did they stutter when they penned FREEDOM OF SPEACH?
Will you be a President that I can say was a great, honest, fair, and truthful man that I am proud to support and do these things so that you provide not only to the current generation but to the rest of the world an America that once again stands for liberty and justice for all irregardless of national creed or origin or skin color or any other thing that one man might try to use against another to remove his Creator given inalienable rights?
Sir, if you would do these things I would not only support you with everything in my being but I am without any doubt that there is not a single American, that really understands the law and what has happened to this great nation, that would not rally behind you and follow a path to reform our nation into what our found fathers dreamed it would be, not what it has presently become.
Please give me back my America, Senator Obama, I beg of you. Stoping saying change, and start telling people what changes will be made. Changing something does nothing if it is not the correct changes which are made.
